The first annual "Great Pumpkin" Contest was held in October. Grayson County 4-Hers had the opportunity to find a pumpkin, have it weighed and get their picture taken with the pumpkin. Once those steps were taken care of, the picture along with the weight of the pumpkin was sent to Mr. Collins.
For our 2008 contest we had one entry, Miss Melinda Holloway of Fairview Elementary. Her pumpkin weighed 21 pounds!!! Melinda wins $25.00 from Grayson County 4-H!! Congratulations Melinda!!
